CBD (cannabidiol) is just one particular cannabinoid of many found in both hemp and cannabis plants. These cannabinoids are all present at varying quantities within these plants. They interact with our bodies via the endocannabinoid system, which is involved in several regulating physiological and cognitive processes.
CBD provides a host of benefits, but the strongest scientifically backed benefits include: Reducing chronic pain and inflamation by inhibiting inflammatory and neuropathic pains. Reducing stress and anxiety. Assisting people who suffer from insomnia by helping them fall asleep faster and promoting restful sleep.
CBD is NOT psychoactive (it won't get you high). A lot of concerns regarding cannabis is due to THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). THC is what causes the "high" feel that people get when enjoying cannabis.
THC isn't typically in CBD only products unless otherwise stated. If you're looking for the benefits of CBD (without the high), then our quivtin CBD tabs are a great place to start.
You’ll notice in our batch reports, that there is an extremely small amount of THC. This is because hemp (where CBD is derived from) also has a small amount of THC present. Hemp is not so dissimilar to marijuana. They are the same family of plant, just a different gender, meaning the cannabinoids found in marijuana can also be found in hemp. We use a certified Hemp supplier that breeds the plant to produce as little THC as possible. Meaning you will not get enough THC to have the hallucinogenic effect, but enough to get its benefits.
The toxicology of CBD is currently an on-going study for long-term affects. What this means for you: it is harder to overdose on CBD than it would be for caffeine. You would have to consume 19,200mg as an average male or 16,430mg as an average female to hit this unfortunate dose. That’s A LOT of CBD. Considering most people do not consume more than 500mg per day of CBD, odds are you’ll probably be fine. Of course, you should always consult your physician if you are having any concerns about CBD interacting with any of your medications or past illnesses.
Finding the right CBD dose will take time and some experimentation. We recommend to start at a lower dose (5mg), and then slowly increase the dose as necessary. During your experimentation period, be sure to take CBD daily. A consistent and scheduled dosage is the best way to experience the benefits of CBD.
We abide by both State (Texas & California) and federal cannabis regulations. Meaning, we purchase our hemp from suppliers who know what they are doing and care about what goes into their herb. They test the hemp for things you don’t want in your products like heavy metals and pesticides. Not only that, but we take things two steps further. Our products are thoroughly tested at every stage of development. Assuring we give you, our customers, the best possible product. Each product has a unique batch number which you'll be able to look up on our site to see the tests done on those batches.
